2025 Between the Bricks

An evening for the dogs! Reserve a spot for a meal for both yourself and your dog. With three locations to choose from – Ophelia’s included! – your dog will enjoy a a multi-course meal provided by Brookside Barkery & Bath, and doggie dessert provided by Mixed Mutt & Co. Humans may order from the restaurant menu that evening at an additional cost. There will also be pet vendors available from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Fort Waggin’ Tail event in Liberty Lounge. Proceeds from this event will benefit Shep’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary in Independence.

Pawmazing Race

Bring your best four-legged friend to the First Annual Pawmazing Race! Join in for a day filled with furry fun, celebrating Mixed Mutt’s 1st birthday. Don’t miss your chance to mingle with over 17 incredible small businesses, rescues, and shelters in Vendor Village & Adoption Alley.

Ghoul's Night Out

Grab your ghoulfriends and come to the Square for a fun night out of drinks, snacks, and spooky shenanigans! This is the 10th Annual Event and an absolute favorite! What will be lurking around this year’s corner? There’s only one way to find out…

77th Annual Halloween Parade

Hosted by the Independence Chamber of Commerce, it’s time for an extra spooky parade full of skeletons, vampires, ghosts, and of course, candy! Fun for all ages, grab yourself some cocoa and watch the scary procession dance down the street!

Mixed Mutt Halloween Pup Parade

Join in on the 2nd Annual Halloween Pup Parade and Costume Contest & Doggo Lick or Treat at Mixed Mutt & Company in Historic Independence Square. Participants will parade around the Square ending in the Liberty Lounge. There will be goodies and fun prizes for costume contest winners!

Square Lighting & Santa's Village

Watch the entire Square light up with singing, dancing, and of course hundreds of lights! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there to help turn the lights on, and then be available for photos after. Enjoy delightful crafts in Santa’s Village. Free for everyone.

Shop til you drop on on this day, by supporting small businesses and enjoying dishes at locally owned restaurants! It's all things local well before Black Friday hits, with stores open late and all sorts of special experiences waiting for you to make the day special.

Support small businesses throughout the day and enjoy fun gifts, unique ways to shop, and things you won’t find at the big box stores! Have kids? Start the day with a magical breakfast with Santa.

Living Windows

Discover the Square at its most magical during this event! Store windows throughout the Square will feature fun Christmas themes, with people moving and interacting for a truly magical display. There will also be singing, dancing, areas for crafts, and more. Restaurants and stores will also still be open for you to step inside for dinner and shopping.
